WHY GO?
Both Uganda and Rwanda are countries not spoiled by our travelers, and this is probably unfair. But where else if not here you can watch wild animals, see the unique African culture and enjoy the most comfortable climate on the planet? The temperature in these places never rises above +30 and never falls below +16. Many scientists believe that the first man appeared there, at the head of the Nile River. Therefore, in some way, our journey is a return to where the childhood years of mankind passed, a return to the origins!
British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill called Uganda the pearl of Africa and was infinitely right! And the former dictator of Uganda and part-time cannibal Idi Dada Amin considered this place "the geographical heart of the world." These words are sometimes quoted as evidence of his idiocy, and, by the way, he was also right. As you know, the ancient supercontinent Gondwana split into 6 continents. The land was spreading, but only the place where Uganda and Rwanda are now located has practically not changed its position relative to the coordinate axis for billions of years.
So let's believe Idi Amin! Cannibals are better than us in many things. In the same people, for example ....
So, our journey is a journey to the VERY HEART OF THE PLANET!
GORILLAS
By a tragic coincidence, the largest apes, mountain gorillas, shared the sad fate of the pygmies. These good-natured giants weighing up to 250 kilograms, there are no more than 800 individuals left on the entire planet. Beautiful and powerful animals have suffered greatly from deforestation and poachers. They need our protection more than anyone else. Remember that gorillas are very sensitive to human diseases, they have no immunity to our viruses. A frail bespectacled man who came from Europe, sneezing on King Kong, can easily kill him. So when visiting gorillas, keep your coughs and diarrhea to yourself if possible.
DESCRIPTION OF SOME PLACES
QUEEN ELIZABETH
Queen Elizabeth is located in the southwest of the country, in the western part of the Great Rift of Africa. There are also rainforests and savannahs and light forests. The national park is located at the foot of the majestic mountain - Rwenzori (Mountains of the Moon) and this served as the formation of a large number of hot springs here. Prehistoric volcanic craters form gigantic amphitheatres, through which elephants and numerous antelopes stroll. Some of these craters have formed salt lakes, against which pink flamingos look especially attractive. The fauna of the park is rich and interesting in its species composition. This is the home of elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, lions and many other animals. More than 500 species of birds live in Queen Elizabeth, among which there are such as the albatross and the crowned crane, which is the state symbol of Uganda.
RAFTING
Rafting on the rapids of the Nile is the insane beauty of the great river and a crazy adrenaline rush. When your raft turns over like a piece of wood, and you fall into the element of turbulent streams, it seems, just a little more, and you will find yourself at the bottom in the arms of black-skinned mermaids…. But no, everything ends well, but for some reason I don’t feel like drinking for a long time.
