Day 1. Arrival - Siem Reap.
Departure from Kyiv. Arrival in Siem Reap. Free time to relax and explore this charming city on your own. Tomorrow will cause a storm of emotions.
Day 2. Tour of the Angkor Wat temple (breakfast, lunch according to the program)
After breakfast, we will have a full day excursion to get to know Angkor Thom and the temples.
The first is the beautiful Angkor Thom (Great City), including the South Gate, the famous Bayon Temple (the 12th century in the city center remains one of the most mysterious temples of the Angkor group, consisting of 54 Gothic towers, decorated with 216 smiling faces).
Next on the program is a Khmer style lunch at a local restaurant.
And in the afternoon, according to the plan, a visit to the wonderful temple of Angkor Wat is one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world. , is probably the best preserved of the Angkorian temples, with a central tower flanked by four smaller towers. The whole complex occupies 81 hectares, a rectangular wall measuring 1025 by 800 meters borders the inner edge of the moat, and the greatest sculptural treasure of the temple is two kilometers of bas-reliefs around the walls.
In the evening we are waiting for sunset on the hill of Phnom Bakheng temple overlooking the distant Angkor Wat in the jungle.
Day 3. Great Lake and West Baray - Silk Farm (breakfast, lunch according to the program)
Breakfast at the hotel and then a visit to the floating village of Chong Khnias, located 10 km south of Siem Reap. We are waiting for a walk on a traditional wooden boat on Lake Tonle Sap, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. And then we will get acquainted with the "Chantiers Ecoles - Les Artisans d'Angkor", where young Cambodians are trained, trying to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of stone carving and wood sculpture. We will visit the Silk Farm, a fascinating farm/workshop where we will show you the whole process of silk making, including growing silkworm food, breeding worms, extracting and processing silk, creating and drawing the traditional pattern of dyeing a set. And on the way back under the Baray Occidental program, 8 km by 2.3 km, which provided water for intensive cultivation around Angkor.
Day 4. Mount Kulen - Banteay Srei and early Angkor temples of the Roluos group (breakfast, lunch according to the program)
Breakfast at the hotel. Today is definitely going to be a storm of emotions. We are heading to Phnom Kulen mountain. Along the route, we have a river of "thousand lingams", the bottom of which is hundreds of meters decorated with stone carvings with images of deities, climbing the sacred mountain Phnom Kulen and visiting a temple of the 16th century with a carved 8-meter silhouette of the "lying" Buddha. Today there will be another discovery - a visit to the temple of Banteay Srei, built at the end of the 10th century. A pink sandstone Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. After a little rest, we head to the temples of Roluos. Roluos is the site of the first city built by the Angkorian kings in the 8th and 9th centuries and consists of three main temples: Bakong, Lolei and Preah Koh. The beautiful surrounding countryside with rice fields and sugar palms will leave no one indifferent!
Day 5: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh (breakfast, lunch according to the program)
After breakfast, a 5-6 hour drive to Phnom Penh awaits. But that's not all! On the way we visit Kampong Thom (before the rise of Angkor it was the capital of Chenla in the sixth century, known as Isanapur). Today, more than 100 ruins of small temples are peacefully located in the forest. And also we look at the archaeological excavations "Naga Bridge" in Kompong Kdei. In the evening we arrive in Phnom Penh and rest.
Day 6: Phnom Penh Genocide Museum, Killing Field - Transfer to Sihanoukville (Breakfast, Lunch as per itinerary)
In the morning after breakfast visit: Wat Phnom, Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and National Museum with many artifacts before and after Angkor. Lunch at Friends the Restaurant, a "friendly restaurant" where ex-street kids are taught hospitality and restaurant skills, helping them break away from street life. In the afternoon, we will get acquainted with the dark chapter of Cambodian history, visiting places associated with the Khmer regime. The program includes the infamous Tuol Sleng Museum and Choeung Ek Killing Field. This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces and became the largest detention and torture center during Khmer Rouge rule. Then we will move to Sihanouk Ville.
Day 7. Sihanuk Vil - Koh Rong Saloum (breakfast, lunch)
Our journey will start at 10 am, we will leave the pier at Victory Beach, and we will continue our way to Koh Rong Samloem. On the way, stop at Koh Tas, which is an ideal place for snorkeling thanks to the amazing coral garden. After anchoring at Koh Rong Samloem, you can choose from several activities. Swimming, snorkeling or walking through the rainforest or mangrove river are just some of your options. The tour also has kayaking equipment. But you can also be lazy, just enjoying the wonderful beach.
Day 8 Sihanouk Ville - Phnom Penh Airport (Breakfast)
In the morning after breakfast you will have free time until your departure, then transfer to Phnom Penh airport. Flight home. You can continue your vacation on one of the islands if you wish.
