Route: Addis Ababa - Gondar - Semien National Park - Lake Tana (Blue Nile Delta) - Lalibela - Addis Ababa - Jinka - Turmi - Arba Minch - Langano Lake - Addis Ababa

Tour program

The day before. Departure from Europe to Ethiopia.

Day 1. Addis Ababa

Arrival at Addis Ababa. Meeting with the guide at the airport, transfer to the hotel and accommodation. Brief introductory tour of Addis Ababa with a visit to Mt. Entoto and the National Museum. In the afternoon, purchase souvenirs and return to the hotel.

Day 2 Bahir Dar

In the morning transfer to the airport and flight to Bahir Dar. Motorboat ride on the lake Tana. The program includes a visit to the monastery Cheers Kidane Mihiret (early 14th century) and a museum at the church, a walk in the coffee forest, as well as the delta Blue Nile (the place where the river flows out of Lake Tana). Return to Bahir Dar after noon.

Day 3. Gondar 

In the morning transfer to Gondar (185 km) and tour of Gondar: visit to the complex of royal palaces (17th–18th centuries) - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also excursion to the church Debra Berhan Selassie (18th century).

Day 4. Simen

Trip to the National Park Simen (another UNESCO World Heritage Site). A walk through the park lasting 2–3 hours. There is a good chance of seeing a family of monkeys Jelada (endemic species). Return to Gondar In the evening.

Day 5 Lalibel

Flight to Lalibela morning flight. Transfer to the hotel. Afternoon excursion to the 12th-13th century churches of Lalibela (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - on this day we visit the northern group of seven churches. Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 6 Lalibel

Continuation of excursions to Lalibela: morning visit to church Gennete Mariam, located 40 km from Lalibela (11th century church). Afternoon excursion to the museum and Church of St. George.

Day 7 Lalibel - Addis Ababa

Morning excursion to churches of Lalibela – southern group, including four churches. Return to the hotel and transfer to the airport. Flight to Addis Ababa day flight. Upon arrival, check into a hotel and rest until evening. In the evening, dinner in a traditional Ethiopian restaurant with live music - the cost of food and drinks is paid by tourists.

Day 8Jinka

Transfer to the airport and flight to Jinku morning flight. Accommodation at the hotel and walking tour to the people's settlement aari (farmers and artisans). Return to Jinku.

Day 9. Jinka – Turmi, 235 km.

Morning excursion to the people's settlement Mursi. Mursi women are known for inserting a clay disc (debi) into a cut on their lower lip. Distance 120 km. Return to Jinku, breakfast, then transfer to Turmi, 125 km. Upon arrival, an excursion to the local market, followed by hotel accommodation and rest.

Day 10. Turmi, 260 km.

Morning excursion to the people's settlement nyangat. The women of this people introduced the fashion of wearing many beads and necklaces around their necks. These beads (their quantity and quality) determine the social status of the family. The next morning excursion is to the people’s settlement karowho decorate their skin with patterns made of clay, ocher and chalk. Return to the hotel for lunch, followed by an excursion to the people's settlement Hamer. Hamerka women apply a mixture of clay, ocher and oil to their skin and hair, giving their skin and hair an unusual red-brown hue.

Day 11. Arba Minch, 285 km. 

Moving to Arba Minch, distance 285 km. Along the way, stop for an excursion to a people's settlement conso (cultural landscape of the Konso people - a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Upon arrival in Arba Minch, check into a hotel and rest. The hotel has a swimming pool and sauna (free of charge).

Day 12 Addis Ababa.

In the morning transfer to the airport and flight to Addis Ababa. After arrival, time to buy souvenirs and relax at the hotel until 20:00. Then transfer to the airport by hotel minibus and flight home.
